Meet Doug! 

Teaching Philosophy: I strive to keep pace with my students, adjusting my approach as needed to ensure learning remains both engaging and enjoyable.

Experience & Specialties: Doug specializes in viola, violin, and cello, with a particular love for classical music. He also has experience performing jazz and enjoys performing whenever he gets the opportunity.

Doug has extensive experience as both a performer and educator. During his high school years, he earned Superior ratings in all four years (2011–2014) at OMEA Solo & Ensemble, both as a large ensemble musician and as a soloist. He also performed with the OMEA Regional Orchestra and, as a high school student, was invited to perform as a guest with the Central Ohio Symphony.

Doug has continued that tradition of excellence through his students. Several of his students have earned top ratings at OMEA Solo & Ensemble, while others have been accepted into Symphony and Honors Orchestras at Grove City High School and Central Crossing High School.

Why They Love Teaching: I enjoy seeing students conquer topics and grow as musicians. It is very rewarding every time they understand and can apply a concept.

Fun Fact: I enjoy performing every chance I get.
