We Have Moved!
Pontones Music operates under Josie & Lauren Music, LLC. The following policies are designed to create clear expectations for students, parents/guardians, and teachers. Please review the policies carefully. Note that some policy details (such as participation in Special Holiday Weeks) may vary by teacher; full-time teachers may offer these sessions while part-time instructors may not, and pricing may vary above the minimum rate depending on the teacher.
The minimum cost for lessons is $30 per 30-minute session.
Depending on a teacher’s level of experience and expertise, the rate may be adjusted above this minimum.
If paying by credit card, an additional fee of $5 is added to cover processing fees.
Payments must be made by the first lesson of the month.
Tuition fees may be adjusted with a 60-day advance notice, to account for cost-of-living changes and any expansion of services offered.
1.3 Service Fee
The processing fee for credit card payments is subject to change, and will be reflected at the time of payment.
Students may reschedule a lesson or a teacher-canceled lesson within 30 days of cancellation, subject to the teacher’s availability.
A minimum of 24-hour advance notice is required for rescheduling; failure to provide notice will result in the lesson being charged as missed.
Lessons canceled by the teacher that cannot be rescheduled will not be charged.
Fees for missed lessons are non-refundable.
Lessons will not be scheduled or charged on designated holidays, including:
New Year's Eve
New Year's Day
Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Juneteenth
Presidents' Day
Memorial Day
Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Eve
Christmas Day
Some teachers offer a Special Holiday Week option.
For example, during the week between Christmas and New Year's and during the school district’s designated Spring Break, students may opt to skip lessons without penalty.
Missed lessons during these periods will not be rescheduled or credited.
Note: Participation in Special Holiday Weeks may vary by teacher depending on whether they are full-time (and rely on these sessions as part of their income) or part-time.
If the teacher needs to cancel a lesson unexpectedly (due to illness, emergencies, etc.), a $30 gift certificate will be provided, which may be used for future lessons, personal sick days or vacations, or can be shared with friends/family interested in lessons.
Virtual lessons may be offered during inclement weather, illness, transportation issues, or other circumstances that prevent in-person sessions.
Store closures due to inclement weather will be announced via the company’s social media channels (Facebook, Instagram).
Late arrivals will receive only the remaining time of the scheduled lesson.
Students are expected to come prepared with all recommended lesson materials.
Students must inform the teacher or the company immediately if they are unable to continue with their lessons.
No refunds are provided for lessons canceled by the student after payment, and non-refundable fees apply if a student discontinues all future lessons within the paid month.
Students must behave respectfully towards teachers, staff, and fellow students.
Students under the age of 18 must be supervised during lessons in the studio. The company is not responsible for any injuries or accidents that occur on the premises.
A proper dress code is required for all lessons, recitals, and performances. Failure to adhere to the dress code may result in the cancellation of the lesson without refund.
The company reserves the right to discontinue lessons at any time.
The company may use photos, videos, and recordings of students and events for marketing and media purposes.
By participating in lessons, you grant permission for such use unless you provide written notice to opt out.
Students and their parents/guardians are expected to maintain open communication with both the teacher and the company regarding any issues or schedule changes.
Student information is kept confidential and will not be shared without consent, except as required by law.
The company strives to provide students with one to two performance opportunities or recitals per year; however, these are not guaranteed.
By enrolling in lessons with Pontones Music, you agree to abide by these policies. For any questions or further clarifications, please contact us via email, call us at (220) 212-2381, or via our online contact form.
