Back to School Updates
Pontones Music operates under Josie & Lauren Music, LLC. The following policies are designed to create clear expectations for students, parents/guardians, and teachers. Please review the policies carefully. Note that some policy details (such as participation in Special Holiday Weeks) may vary by teacher; full-time teachers may offer these sessions while part-time instructors may not, and pricing may vary above the minimum rate depending on the teacher.
The cost for lessons ranges from $30–$40 per 30-minute session, depending on the teacher’s experience and expertise. Rates may be adjusted above this minimum.
If paying by credit card, an additional $5 fee will be applied to cover processing costs.
All lesson tuition is due on the 1st of every month.
Auto-pay will be turned on for all families on the 1st of each month. A card on file will be charged automatically for the month’s lessons.
If you are unable to use auto-pay and need to pay by another method, you must notify the front desk in advance and complete the required paperwork. Any exceptions must be approved and signed.
If payment is not received on time, lessons may be paused, access to lesson materials revoked, and your reserved time slot released. Missed lessons due to non-payment are not eligible for makeups or credits.
If payment remains unpaid after one full month, a late fee equal to the cost of two lessons will be applied, and auto-pay enrollment will be mandatory moving forward.
To account for rising costs and to ensure competitive compensation for our teachers, lesson rates will be subject to a small annual increase each January 1st. Families will receive notice of the updated rates in advance.
Students may reschedule a lesson or a teacher-canceled lesson within 30 days of cancellation, subject to the teacher’s availability.
A minimum of same day notice is required for rescheduling; failure to provide notice will result in the lesson being charged as missed.
Lessons canceled by the teacher that cannot be rescheduled will be left as a credit on students accounts that they can then manually put towards next months invoice.
Fees for missed lessons are non-refundable.
Lessons will not be scheduled or charged on designated holidays, including:
Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Presidents' Day
Memorial Day
Juneteenth
4th of July
Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Eve
Christmas Day
New Year's Eve
New Year's Day
Virtual lessons may be offered during inclement weather, illness, transportation issues, or other circumstances that prevent in-person sessions.
Late arrivals will receive only the remaining time of the scheduled lesson.
Students must inform the teacher or the company immediately if they are unable to continue with their lessons. No refunds are provided for lessons canceled by the student after payment, and non-refundable fees apply if a student discontinues all future lessons within the paid month.
Students must behave respectfully towards teachers, staff, and fellow students.
Students under the age of 18 must be supervised when in the studio. The company is not responsible for any injuries or accidents that occur on the premises.
A proper dress code is required for all lessons, recitals, and performances. Failure to adhere to the dress code may result in the cancellation of the lesson without refund.
The company reserves the right to discontinue lessons at any time.
The company may use photos, videos, and recordings of students and events for marketing and media purposes.
By participating in lessons, you grant permission for such use unless you provide written notice to opt out.
Student information is kept confidential and will not be shared without consent, except as required by law.
