Meet Jason! 

Teaching Philosophy:
 I believe that a strong musical foundation is the key to long-term growth and enjoyment on the guitar. While learning songs is important and fun, I focus on helping students understand why music works so they can apply those concepts on their own. My lessons emphasize technique, rhythm, ear training, music theory, and improvisation, giving students the tools to confidently create, explore, and express themselves through music. My goal is to help students build the skills needed not just to play guitar, but to create music that inspires them. 

What They Teach:
 I teach Guitar. My musical interests span a wide range of styles, including blues, blues rock, rock, classic rock, country, and metal. I draw inspiration from the many genres of music I enjoy, with blues and blues rock having the biggest influence on my approach to playing and teaching. This variety of musical interests allows me to connect with students of different tastes and help them explore the styles that inspire them most. I especially enjoy teaching improvisation, understanding chord progressions, and helping students develop their own musical voice. 

Why They Love Teaching:
 I especially enjoy working with beginner and developing guitarists because I love seeing students gain confidence and discover their own creativity. One of the most rewarding parts of teaching is watching a student move beyond simply learning songs and begin to understand music, improvise over chord changes, and create something uniquely their own. Helping students find joy and inspiration through music is what makes teaching so fulfilling. 

Fun Fact:
 When I'm not teaching or playing guitar, you'll often find me exploring new genres of music and studying how different musicians approach songwriting, improvisation, and musical expression. I believe there's something valuable to learn from every style of music.
