Meet Jennifer! 

Teaching Philosophy:
I believe that music should always be something we love—not something we feel obligated to do. I studied Music Education and focus on helping students grow not just in skill, but in confidence and joy. My teaching is centered around enjoyment, progress, and helping each student fall in love with music in their own way.

Experience & Specialties:
Jennifer currently focuses on piano, voice, and music theory, while bringing a diverse background as a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, performer, and music educator. She enjoys creating personalized lessons based on each student's interests and needs, whether that means developing technique, exploring music theory, or learning a favorite song.

Jennifer's musical experience began with extensive ensemble participation throughout high school. She performed for four years with the St. Clairsville Marching Band, playing flute, piccolo, and alto saxophone, as well as three years with the St. Clairsville Jazz Band on alto saxophone and three years with the St. Clairsville Pep Band on piccolo. She also performed with the St. Clairsville Choir as both an alto and soprano and participated in African drumming for one year.

During high school, Jennifer was selected for the OVAC All Star Band for four years, performing on flute and piccolo. She also earned four Superior ratings as a soloist and two Superior ratings as part of a trio through Solo & Ensemble.

Jennifer's performing experience continued through college, where she participated in Symphonic Band on flute and piccolo, Concert Band on clarinet and euphonium, and Flute Choir on piccolo, flute, alto flute, and bass flute. She also performed with Women's Choral, singing both alto and soprano.

Jennifer has extensive experience in church music as well. Since 1997, she has served as a flute soloist at First Presbyterian Church in Martins Ferry, Ohio. From 2000–2010, she served as an assistant director for both the Children's Choir and Chancel Choir. After moving to Columbus, she continued helping with choir and bell choir.

Today, Jennifer remains active in the local arts community. She serves as a judge for The Voice of Grove City and is an Assistant Director for Beulah Park Middle School's Center Stage.

Why She Loves Teaching:
It brings me so much joy to see students light up when they connect with a piece of music. I love watching that moment when something clicks—not just musically, but emotionally. Helping students find their voice (literally and figuratively!) and supporting their musical growth is one of the most fulfilling parts of what I do.

Fun Fact:
Jennifer has performed on everything from piccolo and bass flute to clarinet and euphonium—and has even explored African drumming!
